ECC Concert Choir Note for February 21st, 2012

O Happy Day, Concert Choir families!  Lots of yellow highlighter today, ‘cuz everything is so important.  There are many things we need your help with…

Two (2) Rehearsals Next Tuesday, Feb. 28th:  In preparation for our March 4th concert with the North Shore Choral Society (NSCS) we will have 2 rehearsals next Tuesday but we will shorten the first one, similar to last semester with the ESO.  The second rehearsal is with the NSCS at the actual concert venue, which is the Unitarian Church of Evanston (UCE).  Please see below for details:

  • Tuesday, February 28th, 4:15-5:15 shortened rehearsal at the Noyes Center
  • Tuesday, February 28th, 7:30-8:30 rehearsal with North Shore Choral Society at Unitarian Church of Evanston (1330 Ridge Ave.): CHECKLIST PICK-UP

UCE is a new venue for us, but not hard to find.  When you park in the lot, send singers right through those main doors, and we will be easy to find.  We’ll have chaperones helping direct our kids around.  Please note the Checklist Pick-up.

Chaperones Needed for Feb. 28th Evening Rehearsal:  Speaking of chaperones, we’ll need maybe 3 parents to help mind our singers for this rehearsal.  Can you help?  Please contact Gary asap if so.  Thank you!

Songs to be Memorized for Next Tuesday:

  • Carmina Burana, excerpts (mvts. #15, 22)
  • Blue Butterfly Day
  • Solda Wa Milo
  • Duond Akuru (just review for most kids)
  • Mi Buenaventura (not officially programmed for Mar. 4th, but I’d like to see if we can get it ready too!)

Keep Selling Raffle Tickets & Remember the Weekly $10 prize!  Remember, the overall top ticket seller also gets a $100 prize ($50 for 2nd place, $25 for 3rd).  Here’s the complete raffle prize list:

  • 1st PRIZE:  Apple 32 BG iPad 2
  • 2nd Prize:  2-nights deluxe accommodations at Chicago’s Hotel Felix
  • 3rd Prize:  Wine sampler set from the Marchetti Company

We need everyone’s participation in our raffle efforts, and we’re hoping everyone will try their best to sell some tickets.   Please ask for more to sell if you need them.  We have plenty on hand in the rehearsal room.  Do it for your ECC : ) Thanks!

We Need Silent Auction Stuff:  This is another big way you can help our event’s bottom line.  We will take almost any item of value, in very good or excellent condition.  Our choir families traditionally come up with a large portion of our auction items and really help round out the selection.  Please contact me as soon as you can if you have something to offer.

Many Volunteers Needed:  Did you know we need 25-30 volunteers for each day of our fundraiser?  Please see the list below for the places we need help, and contact me as soon as you can.  Thank you!

And that’s it from the ECC Home Office this week.  See you on Thursday!
